Studio Slovenija is a platform for promoting Slovenian art and visual media by presenting current work in the visual arts and design.
With 2,126,324 inhabitants1, Slovenia is the sixth smallest country in the European Union, making up 0.5% of the EU population2 and 0.03% of the world's population.3 Despite its size it has a rich cultural heritage and a strong creative sector, which accounts for 0.4% of Slovenia's population.4
Around 3,185 people (0.15%) in Slovenia hold the status of self-employed in culture,4 a good half of them in the visual arts. The actual number of creators enriching Slovenian culture is higher still, as many work without official status.
