Sara Rman

Sara Rman works across different fields of art and craft. Photography is her tool of expression, through which she explores concepts of identity, the dimensions of freedom and a raw aesthetic. She is interested in limits, in reaching and crossing them, in blending, veiling and overlapping. She approaches her work holistically and methodically rather than through the formalist lens of the medium, so process is essential for her and often dictates the final format, which is frequently interactive and installation-based. In her photographic work she questions the indexicality of the medium, its alternative functions beyond image-making, and its arbitrariness.
